Heavy machinery working on timber groyne renewal programme taking place on beach at Alum Chine, Bournemouth, Dorset UK in February

From October 2020 to Spring 2021 five timber groynes from the Poole/Bournemouth boundary to Middle Chine will be carefully deconstructed and replaced with four more evenly spaced ones. This is due to be followed in Autumn 2021 to replace four along the Poole/Bournemouth boundary, to the eastern side of Durley Chine. During this two year project access to areas of the beach will be restricted, keeping access along the promenade.
