London, UK. 7th May, 2016. Cleaners union UVW protest inside the Barbican Centre after cleaning contractor Servest proposed making many of the cleaners redundant or severely cutting their hours and pay. Earlier protests at the Barbican had led to the cleaners getting the London Living Wage in January 2016 but the Barbican disclaims any responsibility for the people who clean the building although Servest claims they driving the cuts. After a short protest inside they agreed with police to leave and continued their protest at the main entrance. Peter Marshall/Alamy Live News
