Lt. Geo. H. Jyon took this photograph on January 29, 1919, of the huge anchor of the naval transport ship Leviathan, previously the German liner Vaterland. The anchor was lowered to a lighter at the Hoboken, piers to weld a link in its chain. The photo was officially approved by the censor on January 30, 1919.
