Mediterranean Sea (March 31, 2017) A Marine with the Maritime Raid Force, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, fires a M45A1 pistol during a live firing engagement drill focusing on small arms combat aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), sustaining his proficiency in small arms firing March 31, 2017. The 24th MEU is underway with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 6th Fleet area of operations.
