The range is restricted to India, not extending eastward of the Bay of Bengal or to Ceylon. Along the foot of the Himalaya it embraces the tract fiom Upper Assam in the east to the Kyarda Dun west of the Jumna, Assam, a few localities in the Indo-Gangetic plain from the Eastern.
