Fossil of Lariosaurus, an extinct genus of nothosaurs (order Nothosauria) known only from finds in Triassic deposits of Northern Italy. The specimen here displayed measures 50 cm in length, which is not much under the maximum size known for this relatively small genus of marine nothosaurs. They were unique among nothosaurs as the front legs were adapted into paddles, while the back legs remained five-toed. L. balsami is the most common species recognized among a few others.
