Houses in Mangalem situated on the citadel in Berat in Albania.
Berat, also known as Berati, is a UNESCO World Heritage site in Albania. Situated on the Osum river it has around 4500 inhabitants. The, largely moslem, suburb of Mangalem consists of houses built on the hillside leading up to Berat castle (or citadel). The houses are painted white to give it's distinctive apperarance.
