Our subject located first on the oldhomestead which he had bought of his father andthere remained, devoting himself to general farm-ing until 1880 when he moved to the place wherehe now resides, having .sold his former place. Mr. Martin located where he now lives in rented his place .and moved to Manchester vil-lage, remaining there for three years, during whichtime he took two trips to Montana and Idaho andwas gone eight months, his wife accompanying himin order to see the wonderful country of the North-west. Our subject returned to his farm in .June,1890 and has since given it his attention. He isthe owner of one hundred and fifty acres his return he found the place much r\in down. //.
