Oxford, England - 29 January 2020 The University Church of St Mary the Virgin is a prominent Oxford church situated on the north side of the High Street, facing Radcliffe Square. It is the centre from which the University of Oxford grew and its parish consists almost exclusively of university and college buildings. Its stunning, ornate spire is shown here. A church was first erected on this site, at the centre of the old walled city, in Anglo-Saxon times. The building in the foreground is the imposing and beautiful facade of All Souls College.
