CHANDLER HALIBURTON, , Biographical.—Thomas Chandler Haliburton, the descendant of anancient Scottish family, was born in December, 1796, at Windsor, X S.,where he received his elementary education. Subsequently he attendedthe University of Kings College till 1824. ^vhen he graduated with highhonors. During his College course he won various prizes, and at an early .period of his studies evinced a taste for literary pursuits.
