Radio- autographs of these chromatograms were made. The chromatograms from R. cuneata had no cystathionine. We cannot exclude its formation, for it could easily be a transient intermediate in this animal. It is very likely that it is formed, as we shall see in discussing formation of cystine. In Figure 1 is shown a radioautogram from M. edulis. Spot 4 is cystathionine and spot 3 is hypotaurine. Both of these.
