Nujiang Church, Yunnan, China

Along the Nujiang, in the far west of China's southwestern Yunnan province along the border to Burma, live many Christians who were converted in the late 19th and early 20th century by missionaries from Europe and America. The missionaries brought the Lisu people a written language. The word Jesus can be seen over the entrance to the door to this small church in the countytown of Fugong.
