August Forel (1848-1931), Swiss psychiatrist and neuroanatomist. Forel is best known for his investigation into the structure of the human brain, along with that of ants. His is considered the co-founder of the neuron theory of the nervous system. Forel is also known for his early contributions to sexology and psychology.
