Shuttle astronauts. Group portrait of the seven crew members on the Space Shuttle Columbia during Mission STS-75 (22 February-9 March 1996). The crew are (clockwise from bottom centre): Andrew M. Allen, mission commander; Franklin R Chang-Diaz, payload commander; Maurizio Cheli and Claude Nicollier, mission specialists; Scott J. Horowitz, pilot; Umberto Guidioni, payload specialist; and Jeffrey A. Hoffman, Mission specialist. One of the purposes of Mission STS-75 was to raise the orbit of an Italian satellite by towing it behind the shuttle on 25 February. However, the line broke and the satellite was lost.
