Southport, Merseyside. UK 21st Nov, 2019 Labour manifesto released with promises and commitments as displayed on empty shop taken over in the town centre. Southport is certain to be one of Merseyside's most interesting electoral battlegrounds. It is rare to find a Parliamentary seat that could genuinely be won by three different parties. The region has traditionally been a very strong base for the Labour Rose and the party is highly likely to secure all five Liverpool seats once again - but there are a few Parliamentary seats that hang finely in the balance - and that Mr Corbyn will need to secure if he is to stand any chance of making it into Number 10 in December. Swinging Southport? Southport is certain to be one of Merseyside's most interesting electoral battlegrounds. After the seat was dominated by Lib Dem local favourite John Pugh for four terms in a row - it opened up into an enticing three-way race in 2017. Ms Savage - who has strong local standing - has already been selected again by Labour and Mr Corbyn will need her to pull off a stunning result to land the seat. As we know, this will be an election fought in the shadow of Brexit and the Liberal Democrat candidate John Wright will be hoping that his party's unequivocal remain stance will hoover up plenty of votes in a Sefton borough that just about sided with remain in 2016.
