Dead female Reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) in Svalbard

This female Reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) had just died from unknown causes, in August 2009. She seemed in good condition and was weaning a calf together with other Reindeer. Conditions are harsh in this part of the world but this animal died for unknown reasons during the summer.
