Farmer Peter Lenihan at the wheel of a 1960 vintage Fordson Dexta tractor towing the coffin of popular Falmer pub landlord John Woodruff, 74. Mr Woodruff collected vintage tractors and was landlord of village pub The Swan. The tractor, from Mr Woodruff's collection, took him to St Laurence Church, Falmer, where a congregation of about 350 family, friends and villagers attended his funeral service. The church was so full 200 people had to stand outside and listen to the service on speakers. Mr Woodruff was buried in the village cemetery and a wake was held in The Swan.
