ENTEROCOCCUS, SEM
Enterococci (colorized SEM). Enterococci (genus Enterococcus) are gram-positive bacteria, under the shape of cocci or cocobacilli, facultative anaerobes. Before they were considered as group D streptococci. Enterococci are present in the intestines of man and animals (intestinal flora) but also in the soil and water. Enterococcus > Enterococcaceae > Lactobacillales > Firmicutes > Bacterium.
