But automobiling here- after will be without thrills for Mr. Ball, as he went up 6,000 feet in an airplane near Doylestown, Pa. July was an unusually favorable month for the growers under glass, as the mean temperature was only 72 de- grees; last July it was 77 degrees. The rainfall was light, only inches, and the percentage of sunshine was seventy- eight, compared to seventy-two per cent of the possible last July. The trade was pained July 31 to hear of the untimely death of "Charlie" Hunt, former florist and son of a pioneer, who has represented a number of the leading growers in all insurance matters. Particulars are in the obituary column this week. Herman Schlachter, of St. Bernard, O., a suburb of Cincinnati, is visiting rela- tives here. Peter Morgen, formerly of Hunting- burg, Ind., who now makes his headquar- ters at the old family home at St. Henry, Ind., was here last week. He is looking for a favorable opportunity to go into business again. When last in this market it was understood that Mr. Morgen had closed a deal with Dr. A. J. Knapp, of Evansville, which would re- sult in the former going into peony growing, but Mr. Morgen now states no such arrangements have been consum- mated. The ilzei civen here are cf
