Galilee Chapel and ruined nave of Glastonbury Abbey church, Somerset. The bodies of "King Arthur and Queen Guinevere" were buried in the nave in 1278.


The ruined Galilee Chapel and nave of Glastonbury Abbey church. In 1278 the bodies of 'King Arthur and Queen Guinevere' were transferred to a black marble tomb before the high altar of the new church in the presence of King Edward I and Queen Eleanor. Henry VIII dismantled the abbey in 1539 after having the 60th abbot, Richard Whiting, executed on Glastonbury Tor.
