The Malmaison Hotel in Newcastle is housed in what was a co-operative wholesale society warehouse, an early ferro-concrete building constructed at the turn of the 20th century. It is a listed building. The ferro-concrete technique was introduced to the UK by French engineer Louis Gustave Mouchel, who was responsible for this building.
