MDA, Magen David Adom, is Israel's national emergency medical service and disaster relief organization. Founded in 1930 and operating under the 1950 legislation, MDA was accepted as a member of the Red Cross Movement in 2006. MDA has deployed EMS personnel in the Mediterranean to provide aid to refugees in 2016, rescue teams to Italy following the August 2016 earthquake, to Nepal following the April 2015 earthquake and to Haiti after the January 2010 hurricane devastation.
