Christiansborg Palace Church in Copenhagen, Denmark, Scandinavia

The origins of Christiansborg Palace date back to the 12th century, when the warrior bishop Absalom, founder of Copenhagen, ordered the construction of a huge palace where he would take up residence. Since then, the Danish royal family has lived in Chstiansborg for centuries, until a terrible fire in 1794 forced them to move to Amalienborg Palace. In 1884, a second fire devastated much of Christiansborg. After the third reconstruction, the architects decided to place three crowns on the top of the tower to symbolize the different reconstructions of Christiansborg Palace.
