Bobbing its head above water. Germany: THESE INCREDIBLE images show a seal saluting the photographer, playing around with its friends and laughing. One image shows a seal rolling around on the sand and laughing upside down as it enjoys the attention. Grey seals. Also known as true seals or earless seals, can grow up to feet long and weigh up to 680 pounds. They can dive deeper than 230 feet to reach their food. These images were captured by photographer and videographer Reno van Dijk (22) on Düne island in the Archipelago of Heligoland in Germany, using a Canon R5 camera. ?In Helgoland and Düne you have to keep 30 meters distance from the animals,? said Reno. ?However when you position yourself at such a distance you still can?t stop their curiosity. ?If you lay down and stay still some of them will come up and investigate. ?I had one young seal, in particular, come up to just outside hand reach one meter from me. He was very playful. ?He kept flopping around and spinning in the sand scratching himself and making all kinds of funny faces while at it, they also sneeze. ?I really like to make my images as clean as possible. No distractions in the background so the image is pleasing to look at. ?You never know what will happen in nature and even when you try to plan, nature will come up with an even better idea if you just stick with it and emerge yourself in your surroundings. ?I?m amazed at how much character these animals mediadrumimages/RenoVanDijk
