A large Viennese(?) gate lock, in the Roman style, circa 1900. Forged iron. Round, two-piece lock screen set with a rectangular lock case and a cover with decorative openwork figures. Narrow central raised section with an architectural top. Key missing. Handle is in the shape of a sculpted dragon. Movable tugging ring. Screen surrounded with inset embossed brass plates displaying evangelical symbols and fabulous animals. Richly chiselled ornamentation.
