Place, Angel of the Battlefield award Navy recipient, stands on stage during the 2018 Armed Services YMCA Angels of the Battlefield Awards Gala in Arlington, Va., Oct. 2, 2018. Place distinguished herself after a neighbor and their daughter suffered life threatening stab and knife wounds following a domestic abuse incident. Her prompt response, assessment, composed leadership, and emergency care saved the lives of both victims.
