Vietnam has a rich and wide variety of religions. The most widespread belief among the Vietnamese is the belief in ancestor-worship. Ancestor worshiping is a religious practice based on the belief that deceased family members have a continued existence. Ancestor worshop is a belief and the Vietnamese don’t call it a religion like Buddhism, which is the largest of the major world religions in Vietnam. The second largest religion is Catholicism. There are more than 6,000 churches engaged in religious activities throughout the country.
