A stall selling dumplings as part of Singapore’s Chinese community’s annual Dumpling Festival.

Statue of Qu Yuan, Chinese patriotic poet and statesman. Every year, on the fifth day of the fifth month he is remembered by Chinese communities in their Dumpling Festival. The dumplings are a fast food snack and consist of sticky or glutinous rice with a variety of fillings, pork, chestnut, egg, salted egg, red bean and mushroom being favourites. The rice is wrapped as a parcel in bamboo or lotus leaves and sold from stalls to passers by.
