The Mammoth Silver King Onion, named and inlro- dvced hi/ us in ISSlt, grows to a most remarkable size. The bulbs are of attractive form, flattened, but thick through. The average diameter of the onions is from 5 to inches—thus making the circumference from IfS to 22 inches. Single bulbs often attain weights of from 2J^ to 4 pounds each. The .skin is a beautiful silvery white; the flesh is snowy white and of a jMirlinilarly mild <md ji/easant flavor. So sweet and tender is the flesh that it can be eaten raw, like an apple. The Silver King matures early and is wufornily of large size and perfect form.
