Wind turbines by a motorway, forming part of a wind farm. Wind turbines are used to generate electricity from the winds formed by the heating of the Earth by the Sun. They are an environmentally-friendly source of energy, as they release no toxic waste products and do not rely on a limited resource for fuel. These turbines are part of one of the La Muela wind farms in the province of Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain. This wind farm consists of 66 NEG Micon NM750-48 wind turbines, each generating 750 kW of power. The rotor hubs are mounted at a height of 55 metres. This wind farm opened in 2003. Photographed in 2008.
