Pacu (Mylossoma duriventre). X-ray of a section through a Pacu, showing its jaws (left) and skeleton. The pacu is a South American freshwater fish and a close relative of the piranha. Despite the sharp teeth and powerful jaws, pacu are popular aquarium fish and are largely vegetarian, using their jaws to crush seeds and plants. This specimen measures 20 centimetres in length.
