In the Garden, —Sow Kale, Spinach, Corn Salad and Winter Radishes. Sow outside about the 10th of the month Earley Jersey Wakefield, Charles- ton or Large Wakefield, Early Summer and Solid South Cabbage for transplanting into cold frames next month. Our strain of these popular market varieties is un- surpassed. Sow some Lettuce in beds for winter use. Continue to set out Shal- lots and Onion Sets. Now is the time for planting Fall Flower Bulbs. Hyacinths, Tulips, Narcissus, etc. We carry large stocks of these bulbs. Sow Fansy seed in frames for transplanting in the spring. In the Field.—Continue to sow Rye, Barley and Winter Turf Oats. About the loth -wheat should be sown. Sow some winter Hairy Vetches wi:h Rye, they make a splendid fodder plant sown together. All kinds of Grass Timothy and Clover Seeds will do well sown this month. Renovate your lawns with our Emerald Lawn Grass. In the Orchard.—Set out Strawberry Plants the latter part cf this mcrth and prepare everything for putting out young fruit trees, shade trees and Grape vines. THE HOTBED For early vegetables, some provision for starting certain plants earlier than can be done in the open air is PS For this purpose, nothing is better than a good hotbed. Fresh horse manure mixed with dried leaves makes the best heating material. This must be forked over and thrown in a loose pile ; let it remain for a few days and
