Snow covered islet at Lake Towada. What is normally water is totally frozen and covered in snow
Lake Towada is the largest crater lake in Honshu island, Japan, and the 12th largest in Japan. The lake is a popular tourist destination. The lake is not known to freeze during winter. But in the year the photo was taken, a large segment of the lake froze because of the unusually cold winter.
