Celery should receive thorough cultivation if good results are desired. To store for winter use, select well-drained ground, dig drenches one foot wide and deep enough to cover the tops of the plants. Pack the stalks in this in an upright position, covering with boards to shed the water ; in severe weather protect with straw or leaves. Dreer's Monarch.
