Separate the vessels (artery and vein) from the nerves and divide them(the vessels) between ligatures. Pull the nerve trunks downwards and dividethem high up. Step 2.—At right angles to the original incision make a circular cut downto the bone all round the arm at the level of the insertion of the deltoid. Sepa-rate the soft parts from the bone up to its head. Disarticulate. Step 3.—Review the wound. Trim away redundant tissue.
