Airman 1st Class Elise Black nervously waits while in-processing to the Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills program at the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. The operating room technician received only a few days notice that she would attend this program that trains Air Force critical care air transport teams via a unique partnership with the University of Maryland. Black is slated for deployment to Afghanistan at the program's end.
