Seaton Carew Co. Durham England UK 7 May 2017. The topside deck of the Shell Brent Delta Oil and Gas Offshore Production platform has been removed after some 40 years service in the North Sea. It was transported as a record-breaking single 24,000 tons load to the Able UK facility at Seaton Carew for recycling. The final phase of the sea transportation was on a barge, and preparations are in hand today to skid the platform off the Barge and on to a prepared concrete base where it will be safely demolished and recycled over the coming months
