Needle lace, filet/lacis (knotted ground and darned in two directions); bleached linen (est.); overall: x cm (36 1/2 x 27 3/8 in.). The darning, or area of woven pattern, on these two attached panels is much thicker than the ground. In the center, a tree is flanked by four-legged animals, perhaps horses, lions, or griffins.
