I do not remember to have seen a Peruvian Patera without them. The remaining articles are of unusual interest. They throw more light on ancientaboriginal arts than can be expected from any amount of pottery. Fig. 1, Plate 39,a chisel nearly .3 J inches long, i inch thick at the thickest part, I inch wide atone end, and U inches at the other. Of pure copper it has been cast, and thecutting end drawn out witli the hannnor. It has never been used as a chisel; thereare no marks of blows on its end.
