When theunion is close and bony there may be a somewhat exuberant callusupon the anterior aspect of the process, due probably to the strippingup of the periosteum or tendon. The mechanism in the great majority of cases is by indirect violenceexerted in such a way as to cause dislocation of the .joint backward andto break oil the point of the process as it is forced past the trochlea, Fig. Fracture of the eorouoid process of the right with exuberant callus on the anterior surface, line of fracture still visible on the articular , a small fragment broken from the articular borderof the olecranon and reunited.
