I photographed this little adder species found in the Karoo of South Africa. This was my first wild specimen so I was very thrilled to have the opportunity to get up real close and personal to capture this very intimate shot of this beautiful snake. It was not the friendly type and it struck out towards my lens several times and hissed loudly for a little snake but it was all in a days work as a ranger and photographer.
