The orifice of the collateralvessel on the left upper side of the sacis shown closed bj^ three continuoussutures. (Matas, in the Annals of Sur-gcru-) 282 AJVIERICAN PRACTICE OF constrictor is then removed and the interior of the sac inspected for bleedingpoints, which, if found, should be closed by suture. The sac is next obliteratedby approximating its walls as shown in Figs. 97 and 98. At the site ofthe tumor there will be a depression, varying in depth according to the originalsize of the aneurysm. No raw surfaces are left in view and drainage is not needed. x\fter the dressings have beenapplied, the limb is wrapped in cottonand bandaged to a splint. Restorative endoaneurysmorrhaphyis applicable to aneurysms of the sac-cifomi type in which the parent trunkretains its continuity and normal outline, and the aneurysm is a sac simply graftedon the vessel. By making a free incisionin the sac and washing out the clot onemay expose, on the inside of the aneu-rysm, the opening leading to the artery, and may easily close it by a continuedsuture which penetrates through all thecoats of the sac at the margin of theorifice of communication.
