Designed by architect Carlos Rubio Carvajal, the brazier consists of a 2m-wide circular piece of black steel, similar to a giant wheel, resting on a black steel bowl. A small plaque in front of the monument reads Vuestra llama nunca se apagará en nuestros corazones (“Your flame will never go out in our hearts”).
