Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, along with Soldiers from the 1st Infantry Regiment, Japan Ground Self Defense Force, play in a competitive game of volleyball on Sports Day during Rising Thunder 18, at the Yakima Training Center, Washington, Sept. 5. Sports day was created to allow the Japanese and American Soldiers the opportunity to strengthen friendships and build even more cohesiveness between the two forces.
