An early European naval officer's dirk, circa 1840 Personalised and cased. From a German officer on the SMS Amazone. Ivory grip with curved blade, brass guard, pommel, and scabbard. Blade length 27 cm. Overall length 40,5 cm. Blade is dark with age and has been sharpened. Highly decorative scabbard, engraved " Heiner Lutjens, a Amazone." Complete with fitted black leather covered contemporary case lined with satin and velvet ( x cm). The pommel, grip, and guard are loose. Rare.
