A long Italian miquelet-lock shotgun,Giacomo Scaramuci,Florence,circa 1700. Three-stage barrel divided by girdles,octagonal,then facetted and becoming round,with smooth bore in 16 mm calibre,cannon muzzle and silver bead. Above the breech marked "PROVATA "(tested Carlo Leoni,Pistoia)between crowned "Medici Marke". Exquisitely cut miquelet-lock with engraved vine décor,the inside marked "Giacomo Scaramuci Firenze".
