EPULIS This is a red, moderately soft tumor which grows from theperiosteum between two teeth or from the socket of anextracted tooth. It resembles granulation tissue in ap-pearance, but if not treated it slowly extends along and intothe alveolus. Its structure is that of a spindle celled sar-coma, and it must be classed as a mildly malignant should be entirely removed and the bone thoroughlycuretted, and any recurrence immediately treated in thesame way. It can generally be eradicated without much difficulty.
