All are capable of being handsomely finished, andthey stand in merit respectively, white, black, red ; butthe red oak is not nearly as good a wood for stainingas the white. Most all woods need a filler before a satisfactoryjob can be obtained, and oak, being one of our coarseor open grained woods, necessitates a good filler.
