The small seaside village of Gerolimenas in Aposkieri ("shadowed"="West") Mesa ("inside") , or Lakonian Mani, was for about a 100 years, from mid-19th to mid-20th centure, the most important harbour and commercial centre of Mani. Nowadays some of the old warehouses of the harbour, have been converted to a beautiful, atmospheric hotel, called "Kyrimai".
