May 7, 1910.] ELECTRIC RAILWAY JOURNAL. 829 NEW HAVEN ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVES The New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad on March18 completed the first series of trial runs in freight servicewith electric locomotive No. 071. This locomotive which was the truck frames above the driving axle. The most novel fea-ture of the locomotive is the method of mounting the drivinggears on the wheel centers. The details of this mounting areshown in the accompanying pinion with 34 teeth is mounted on each end of the arma- Rear End.
